Old City

Wandering around Shanghai everything is new and industrial until you get inside the ancient city walls of the old city. For me it is the most picturesque area of Shanghai and an overwhelming contrast to its surroundings.  This painting was inspired by my travels here back in 2014. This painting captures the mix of the old architecture and the crowds of tourists and lights at the end of the day.
