Sicilian Rooftops

Sicily is one of my favorite places to visit: the history, the views and the food.

The towns are nestled at hilltops giving picturesque views. I participated in an Art Residency in Sicily in 2014 where I was painting a large outdoor wall mural.

For 4 weeks and traveled the country-side inspired by the hillside views. I was visiting a cheese shop that makes fresh ricotta (for the infamous Sicilian cannoli) and fresh provolone in Castiglione di Sicilia. I had no expectation that I was heading to a beautiful hilltop town with a Norman Castle and this view. Sicily always exceeds my expectations!

If you are going to Sicily I highly recommend visiting the cheese shop in Castiglone di Sicilia it is called Alcantara Formaggi.
