Sunset over Teatro Greco

Taromina is one of the most beautiful places I've been able to watch the sunset. From the Greek/Roman ruins my breath was taken away... The theater is partially rock (from the Greeks) and partially brick (from the Romans) is perched on a cliff edge so you can see the Ionian Sea to the west and Mount Etna, a live volcano, steaming to the south. As you wander the ruins you can also see mainland Italy. It is a spot where so much history comes together, even today as opera and pop stars still host concerts here.
