It is usually raining in Vancouver. We don’t get the snowy, bright white winters that the rest of Canada does. Instead we get 6+ months of gray skies and it feels dark. However the stylish umbrellas come out as people head home from work and the colorful lights of Granville Street reflect into the puddles on street. This painting was a small study for a large canvas painting that won the Silver Medal at the 2018 Federation of Canadian Artists Medal Show in Dec 2018.
