The view overlooking Assoro Sicily.
I found the UNESCO Heritage site town while visiting the Canadian WWII war cemetery in Sicily. My breath was taken away in this town as I had copies of sketches that William Ogilvie had painted in 1946 with me and we had found this exact spot that the Canadian troops had been and Ogilvie had drawn. I sketched in the same spot he sat which was also steps away from this view. This painting was done back in my studio as part of a group show with the collective 13 Feet Off the Ground.
