About the Painting:
This painting shifts the view upward, onto the stairs as they rise through the dense forest. The Grouse Grind is relentless — step after step, with only glimpses of light breaking through the canopy. The perspective is from near the end of the climb, where the stairs still seem endless but the sky is beginning to reveal itself.
