Sea to Sky Print
This is a fine art print of the painting Sea-to-Sky by Joanne Hastie
About the Image
The drive from Vancouver to Whistler (and back) is on a beautiful mountain highway with the water to the west and mountains to the east - better known as the Sea to Sky highway. On one of the drives back to Vancouver, while I was a passenger I witnessed the most stunning clouds that I knew would be wonderful reference for a painting.
Original Painting was done in 2021, acrylic on canvas, 18" x 24"
About the Print Options
Your artwork gets printed onto Premium Matte Exhibition Canvas or Fine Art Paper in my art studio in New Westminster (larger prints are done at a local Vancouver print shop with the same quality but a larger printer).
Canvas has a texture to it making it look more like the original. I sign the back of the canvas with pencil and I write the year printed.
There are 3 types of canvas prints depending on the size and how you plan to hang it. Smaller canvas prints will look great in a frame under glass so they do not require varnish or stretching. The larger prints have stretching and varnish options so they can be installed without a frame.
Shipping can expensive for larger prints above 24x32". I do have relationships with international printers that can potentially print and ship closer to you. But the print will not be signed. Contact me for these options. Also contact me about pick-up if yyou are in the Sapperton/New Westminster BC area. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org
Fine Art Paper Prints are done on smooth, bright white archival paper. I include a 1" white border (0.5" border on 8"x10" size) and I sign the bottom right corner with pencil. The paper is 300gsm (140lbs).
2" Canvas Borders
When a canvas is stretched around 1.5" stretchers the painting continues around the edges. I make sure that the image is a continuation and looks seamless (not mirrored). This looks great if you hang the artwork without a frame or if you install it into a floating frame.
Larger Sizes = Longer processing time
My studio printer is limited to 24" on the short side (i.e. maximum size of 24"x36"). If you order a print larger than 24" please allow an extra two weeks to process your order. I only visit them a couple times a month to pick up print orders. I will contact you to give you more exact timing.
Depending on the print size, the print will be packaged in a Stay-Flat cardboard envelope with backing board and plastic sleeve, or larger prints I roll with tissue paper into a 3" or 4" cardboard tubes.
Shipping & Custom Fees
Each print is made to order in my New Westminster studio space (or I outsource to a local printer if the print is larger than 24").
Please allow 3-6 business days for printing and packaging (or 2 weeks if larger than 24"). The timing is depending on my painting business capacity.
Please be aware that there may be additional VAT/customs charges to be paid by the customer on delivery depending on your location/country.
How to frame un-stretched canvas prints
Not sure how to frame your print? I created tutorials to help you frame your print yourself. If that is too much work may I also suggest some local framers. Click here for all the information regarding framing. I recommend protecting both types of print with glass or a lighter option, plexi-glass.
Refunds and Returns
If your print is damaged in the mail please send me a photo of the packaging and the print as soon as possible to discuss a solution.
Enjoying the art on your walls is especially important to me. I hope you are completely satisfied with your purchase. Please read my refunds and exchange policy regarding prints. Click here.
